Pros: Maneuverable, quiet, built-in hose does not have to be plugged in to work
Cons: Kind of short cord and hose
The Bottom Line: For general bits-of-food, dust and such I find this to be a very good bare floor vacuum.

The mission: clean the floors. The battlefields: one kitchen/dinning area with tile and three bathrooms and a laundry room with vinyl. The added challenge: two toddlers learning to eat at the big table.
This is a job for
EasyVac!
Okay, so that was corny. Nevertheless, you get the picture. I was tired of dragging our big upright vacuum into the kitchen to clean up after little messes (and my two girls would definitely qualify as little messes.) I was tired of dragging that same big vacuum into the bathrooms to catch bits of hair, dust and other stuff that found its way into the oddest little corners possible.
I remembered a long time ago that my Mom had used a stick broom called a Lectric Broom. Now I am the age my Mom once was, and I understand the need for this tool! Therefore, I set out to find something to make cleanup easier. After reviewing a number of vacuums, I had settled on the Bissell, then Amazon.com offered a free shipping deal for orders of $25 or more and I leaped on it.
The vacuum itself is a white color with a cool transparent purple dust cup. Assembly was trivial, and consisted of snapping the extension handle onto the vacuum body, slipping the crevice tool into its holder and pushing the roller head into the suction inlet.
The tool weighs maybe 10 pounds, a little heavy and awkward to use in canister-vac mode, but with the wheeled head installed and used as a stick broom, it is light and nimble. Oh, and the wheeled head is very important, because without the wheels you would scratch your floors. That feature alone was, for me, a strong point in favor of this model.
The very first test was dinner the night we got it. Featured on the menu, rice pilaf. Our toddlers love rice pilaf. They do not yet love using their spoons. In the aftermath, there was a minefield of mildly sticky rice pieces scattered about the legs of their chairs. Grab the EasyVac, turn it on and sweep. Done. It was that easy! The mildly sticky bit mentioned above gave the vacuum no trouble. Okay, that was a good first test. Now, how will it do in the bathrooms? It carried easily by the built-in handle and it maneuvered easily around the commode, under cabinets and into the shower pan.
Emptying the dust cup was straightforward. Take it off the unit, pull out the filter and dump.
If I go into fussy mode then I can find some areas for improvement. I would like a bit longer cord, just an additional 5 or 10 feet would do. The built-in hose is great, but I would like it to be maybe a foot longer as well. In addition, the filter looks like it might be a pain to clean and I have not yet looked into what I would have to do to replace it.
And, as the name implies, this is a vacuum for bare floors not carpet.
However, these complaints are faint. I am very pleased with my new vacuum.
