Pros: Excellent suction, Long attachment hose, Long power cord, nice ergonomics.
Cons: Messy to empty, Power switch placement, can tip backwards.
The Bottom Line: In my opinion, this vacuum hits the sweet spot with pricing, features and performance.
You'll get your money's worth.
But be prepared for a few (minor) drawbacks.
agathodaimon's Full Review: Bissell Velocity Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
I purchased this vacuum after extensive searching when our Hoover started to lose suction.
This one hit my pricing sweet spot at $129 at the local Target store.
I don't care much for the color, but it's a VACUUM, not a piece of furniture.
Assembly out of the box was a piece of cake. Within 15 minutes, I had everything put together and was up and running.
The suction from this vacuum is spectacular. It actually pulled the pile of my berber carpet, which I have never seen done before.
The amount of cat hair it picked up could have made us an entirely new cat.
This is after vacuuming once beforehand with our old vacuum!
The power brush attachment does a good job on furniture. You have to work it around a bit to pick up the pet hair, but it beats lifting up the vacuum onto the couch.
The attachment hose is long enough to reach up a flight of 12 stairs in our basement. I don't have to move the vacuum at all!
At first, I liked having the bagless container, because it was easy to dump & you could easily see how much dirt & pet hair you've collected.
But after several uses, things get VERY dirty inside the container. There is a series of vents that got clogged only after a few uses, which you have to take out, and spill dirt everywhere in the process. I suggest doing this outside. It would be nice to have all the debris collect into the actual canister that you dump in the trash, rather than some of it getting held up into the chamber above.
I also don't like how it's a bit "back" heavy. Meaning that it doesn't take much to tip it backwards. Which I've already done a few times while using the hose/attachments.
It's not a particularly heavy unit, I'd say it's around the average vacuum weight. It's easy enough to carry up and down the stairs with one arm.
Overall I'm very pleased with this unit, simply because it looks attractive, and does an OUTSTANDING job and cleaning. It has it's flaws, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
