| tiffer0220's Full Review: Black & Decker ODC150 12-Cup Coffee Maker |
I had purchased the Black & Decker spacemaker coffeemaker because I was fed up with the last coffee maker I had owned. What got me irritated with my last coffee maker was that when I had to fill the water tank up, I would first have to fill up the coffee pot with water and then pour it into the tank. This led to water always leaking from the pot while I was pouring.
The Black & Decker has a water container that is removable. You just open up the side door, take the water container out, place it under the faucet, fill it up to how many cups of coffee you would like, and then place it back into the holder. Now all you have to do is just add a coffee filter, some coffee, and be sure your pot is in position and you are all set to go. No water getting spilled while pouring, no more second guessing how much water you added in case you forgot. The water container is clearly numbered on the left side, so depending on where you put the coffee maker, you may not see the numbers in clear view.
The B&D is a 12 cup coffeemaker. It also has a digital clock with a timer on it. There is also a 2 hour shut off, which means your coffee maker will shut off after 2 hours. There is a sneak a cup feature which allows you to take out the coffee pot and either pour coffee from the pot into your cup or just let the coffee brew right into your cup. The coffee has a tendency of coming out too strong for me when I try to use this feature. So I'd rather wait for it to get done before I get my cup of coffee. I have had coffee makers where for some reason, it always came out too strong, even though you added the right amount of water & coffee. I have not had this problem with this coffee maker except if I use the sneak a cup feature. All of my cups of coffee have come out tasting quite good.
I have not installed my coffee maker underneath my cabinets yet. This is because I have found the directions to be a little hard and I fear I will mess up my cabinets. But it's looks just as nice sitting on my counter. I know 3 other people who own this same coffee maker, and I like the look of it underneath the cabinet, off of the counter. One day when I am brave, I will attempt to install my spacemaker underneath my cabinet.
I would recommend this coffee maker to anyone who is tired of having to go through a 3 step process of pouring water for your coffee and then have to clean up the water from the counter because it leaked.
