I owned the trimmer for only 1 month. I bought it for the following features: the automatic feed and the option of rotating the device for edge trimming. This trimmer does a great job trimming and edging, but lacks that same efficiency with the automatic feed. After returning the trimmer once (kept falling apart), I returned it the second time for good after going through almost 30 feet of string in one day. The automatic feed constantly advances more and more string. When I returned it the second time, two exactly the same trimmers were waiting for mine in the returned cart. I bought the trimmer for about $50-60 at Lowes. They questioned me upon my return the first time and the second they didn't even ask any questions. Says a lot of the trimmers quality.
