"What else can I drill now?"

I found myself saying this a lot ever since getting this 14.4V FireStorm. This tool really is a must for any do-it-yourself-ers.

Power!
At 14.4 volts, this puppy has power. This is my second drill. I first bought a Skil Dual Source 12V driver/drill and this just did not perform up to par. (for the review on Skil, please see: http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-review-65C4-35F1F6C9-3A105900-prod6 ) But my 14.4 FireStorm is awesome! This baby has so much power that it can drill a 3 inch long screw into a 2x4 and a wall stub with no problem. Be careful not to put your hand around the keyless chuck area when the drill is on. You will definitely get a hand burn like no other. Anyway, if you are serious about home improvement, you definitely don't want a driver/drill less than 14 volts.

Batteries
The package that I got came with two 14.4 volt batteries. This is helpful because while you're working on one project, the other battery can be recharging. Plus, the 1-hour quick charger makes sure that your second battery is fully charged right after your first battery is drained. One charge also lasts for hours. Most importantly, the 14.4 battery in the FireStorm is fully compatible with DeWalt's 14.4 battery. This means two things:

1) You will most likely not ever have any problems buying a new battery when the old ones go bad. DeWalt is extremely popular and the company would be fools to discontinue a line of battery that numerous popular power tools depend on.

2) You can use the battery from the FireStorm in other DeWalt devices and vice versa. I also recently purchased a DeWalt cordless circular saw because the batteries are interchangeable.

Price
After my Skil experience, I really wanted to get a DeWalt or a Makita. But they're just way too expensive for me. For the exact same features as the FireStorm, a DeWalt or a Makita would cost about $250. So unless you're a pro, I cannot justify the cost. I purchased my 14.4V FireStorm for about $100, which includes the driver/drill, two batteries, one fast charger and a carrying case. This is a GREAT deal.

Dependability
Yes, Black and Decker makes the FireStorm. I was very hesitant to buy this driver/drill because Black and Decker makes it. But did you know that Black and Decker also makes DeWalt? It's similar to Toyota making Lexus vehicles. It's the same engine, but marketed for a higher end demographic. Same thing with the DeWalt. My experience with the FireStorm so far: VERY DEPENDABLE. The FireStorm is perfect for me.

I love my FireStorm! I definitely got my $100 worth in this baby. Its performance has been superb thus far. I would even pay $200 for this tool. To me, it's just as good as getting a DeWalt. You get all the benefits and performance of a DeWalt, but you don't get the hole in the wallet from buying a DeWalt. I highly recommend this to all those serious home improvement wannabes.
