Pros:Gets the hard jobs done fast.
The Bottom Line: If the job is easy for me to do, that saves me travel time and money of a good mechanic. So $225.00 isn't so bad compared to what you save.
For a guy like me with so many machines, when it comes to shop maintenance there are 2 musts one have a set of Industrial Deepwell Sockets and the other is a Dewalt ½ Cordless Impact Wrench. When it comes down to jobs I can do here at the shop, these two tools are the first I bring out. With all commercial or industrial equipment the bolts and nuts are stronger to tighten at maximum torque so they never come loose on the job. It comes in handy when I buy new tires for my machines and pulling this impact wrench out to take the tires off and replace them. When I put them on I make sure I have my torque wrench is there with me because the torque on each nut is suppose to be at 125 pounds a piece and with the maximum of 300 pounds I never have to worried about redoing the work.

Another situation that happened to us, we were on the road and we did a field of 5 acres and it was our first time and the grass was knee high so we had to take it slow. Well, sure enough one of the machines hit a rock bending the blade. So I had them balance the zero turn on the rim of the trailer with the zero turn on 3 wheels and I went underneath to change the blade. I keep this box set on the back floor of my truck next to my mini air compressor. You basically have to have 2 sets of tools, one for the road and one for the shop. Being cordless gives my the mobility to walk around the machine I'm working on and torque tight all the nuts and bolts to keep these machines running perfectly. The black carrying case is made of hardened plastic and the plastic flip locks sometimes don't clip well and brute force needs to clip them together. But other than the lock issue the case is sturdy to protect it.
When I'm working on a machine, I put the other nicad battery in the charger. The length of the time between charges is how hard and fast you use it. Hard non-stop work I give the battery just over an hour of constant work. If the wrench stays in the truck I have both batteries next to each other on my desk and go back and forth charging them. You don't want to keep them in the charger after the light says it's fully charge, take it out and set it on the side the charge lasts one hour. The best deepwell sockets to make this a great duo are Ingersoll Rand or Snap-On. What comes in the box is your impact wrench, two nicad battery packs, your charger with a 4 foot cord, and your registration card. Do fill the registration card out. I have a Dewalt Drill set that the motor burned up in it and since I registered it for warranty purposes Home Depot promptly gave me a new one with no questions asked. There is a 90-day money back guarantee, 1-year free service contract, 3-year limited warranty. With the battery pack in this impact is weighted almost 15 pounds its length is 16 inches, 14.25 in width and 5.25 in height. This Dewalt half inch impact wrench has two speeds, low torque at maximum of 1,650 rpm's and on high the maximum rpm's at 2,600.
Overall, if you need the mobility to move around the equipment you're working on; it's time to put that air hose and compressor on the side. Main reason I like it is the security it gives me on the road if something breaks down that I can fix. I fully recommend for that workshop guy. The carrying case is a fantastic on the road, you can place it anywhere.
