I feel compelled to write this review because I have had it with this thing. I hate gas trimmers because you spend an hour of your day trying to get it started and keeping it started. I hate electric trimmers because you are always fighting the cord. I purchased this model last year as it said you could whack down 2 acres on a single charge! Great, I have no where near that!. No bumping required!

It takes me about 3 and a half charges to edge and whack my lawn. My lawn is not huge, I have to wait for batteries to charge. Unacceptable. My grandmother lives on several acres and I found she has the same problem. If by acre they mean a 10 x 10 square of grass that has already been mowed then it can do about half an acre before it starts to slow down. For a while this was still "better" than the alternatives because I could trim and then mow while I was wating for the next charge to be ready. UGHHHH.
This season, it would intermittantly start and stop for no good reason. It would stay on for about 5 seconds and turn off. I could bump it on the ground and it would start again, only to fail. After about 8 weeks of this I finally took it apart. Bad connection. I re-soldered it together and it worked like a champ until this week end.
For some odd reason it will not "clip" the line after it lengthens. I have a 1 foot chunk of line hanging out and dragging the motor down. I check the knock-off blade and it is stil sharp. After about 30 bouts with it breaking off and putting an inch long gash in my shins, I took off the spool and replaced it with a new one. Same problem. Then I was just going to "take it" so I could finish the job when a piece of the shield broke off and popped me in the mouth. I felt like I had been sucker punched in a bar-room brawl. I decided right then and there that I would end this things sorry life. I destroyed it. Awesome! If anyone needs any replacement parts I can probably glue them together and mail them to you.
