I bought this B&D model a few years back because the price was $20 lower than the bigger name brands. It was a weak moment for me to buy a B&D anything but I got three good years of moderate woodworking out of it before the motor burned up. I had to replace the Velcro pad once (B&D parts outlet ~$16) and if the motor hadn't failed, I would be needing another soon.
I can't help but think if I had spent the extra $20 then, I wouldn't be on this web page looking at sander reviews today. This unit is fine for light jobs around the house but it didn't pass the serious woodworker longevity test.
