I received this toaster oven as a gift for Christmas 2007. Initially it worked okay, most of the time the kids just used it to toast their bagels and such. Until one day in March my kids bagels burned. Oh yes it has a timer dial, but the timer just kept going way past the stopping point, and never dinged again. I don't know what it cost, but Target has it for $30.00 It sure wasn't worth the money they might as well have lit and burned their money like the toast.
I think any kitchen appliance should work for more 2 1/2 months. I would never recommend this product to anyone. I called an 800 number that I had for Black and Decker, and they were not very helpful. They did apologize, but told me to take the appliance with the proof of purchase back to the store it was purchased at, and just get a new one. Easier said then done. I don't even have the box anymore. My bad for not asking the person who purchased it and sent it to me for the receipt as well. I will never purchase another Black and Decker toaster oven again. I guess you get what you pay for, and I am thinking the price on this was pretty low.
