Pros: Programmable timer, easy to use, economical model, sneak-a-cup feature
Cons: Dripless spout not always dripless
The Bottom Line: The Smartbrew Plus has far more pros than cons and is a stylish, easy-to-operate model that is well-priced and well-appreciated in my home.

This coffeemaker is a great buy--sandwiched between Black and Decker's bottom end plain 12-cup Smartbrew and their Delux model, the Smartbrew Plus has just enough extras to make coffee drinkers happy without a lot of trouble.
We don't drink a "ton" of coffee, but we do have a pot each morning, and the programmable timer is a lifesaver at 6:00 a.m.--especially on mornings after the baby has had us up in the night!
The carafe is a sleek design and fits tightly into the coffeemaker on the burner and clicks in place so you know the fit is right for brewing. The "Perfect Pour" dripless spout does pour without drips for the most part, but don't pour too fast or you will have coffee running down the side of the carafe! One note on durability: I have knocked the carafe against my sink several times and, where other carafes may have broken from the same impact in the past, the Smartbrew Plus carafe was not hurt a bit.
The Sneak-a-cup feature is great when you are on the run and don't have time to wait for the full pot to brew, however, the programmable timer usually keeps us from having to brew coffee when we are running late.
The Smartbrew Plus also offers the nice feature of filtered water, coming with a charcoal filter basket which attaches within the water reservoir. Replacement filters are reasonably priced at three for $11.95 and are easy to replace.
Cleaning the Smartbrew Plus was simple for the most part. The lid lifts to give access to the water reservoir and the brew basket all at one time, and is roomy enough to wipe out. You can also easily run a vinegar/water solution through the machine periodically to keep everything fresh. The only place I ran into a cleaning problem was on the keypad. Dropped grounds can get stuck in the edges around the keypad, requiring a bristle brush to clean. The keypad itself is smooth, however, so you can wipe it off easily.
And on a style note, coming in both black and white, the Smartbrew Plus should fit into any kitchen's decor and you should be able to leave it out on the counter without felling like it is an eyesore.
