Black and Decker 2 LB Horizontal Breadmaker
I have always wanted a bread maker. In fact I have been pining for one for about 5 years, and I finally got one for my birthday last summer. Since then I have yet to buy a loaf of bread from the store. A lot of people have told me that they used the machine for a few months and then it just sits on the counter collecting dust. I thought I might fall into that trap, but not yet! I have been making approximately a loaf of bread a week for about seven months now, and I am still not bored.
Here are some of the features that I love.
1. It has a timer, so you can wake up to the smell of fresh bread in the morning (just don’t have the machine too close to your bedroom because it is LOUD), or ready when you come home from work.
2. It is EASY!!! All you do is measure out the ingredients into the pan in the order they appear on the recipe, press a few buttons and voila -- bread in 2 to 4 hours. You just leave it until it beeps, signaling completion.
3. It’s not just for bread. I haven’t tried Pasta or cinnamon rolls yet (although I hear the cinny rolls are yummy), I’ve made pizza probably around ten times. I SWEAR it’s the best pizza dough you can get! I worked in a pizza store many moons ago, and when I first sunk my hands into the dough from the bread machine, I was taken back in time to my pizza days. The dough felt exactly like the professional stuff. It was also -- easy to make, and delicious when cooked!
4. The recipe book for this machine is very thorough, giving recipes for 28 delicious loaves of bread, cinnamon rolls, pizza and pasta dough, pretzels, coffee cake, and the list goes on. The book also has a good set-up and trouble shooting guide.
If you have been thinking about getting a bread machine, but you’re not sure whether you will use it, trust me, you will. It's is so easy and the results are worth it. You might as well get a machine that is reliable (Black and Decker is a good name), and the price is very reasonable. You get the benefit of fresh bread, the smell is to die for, you KNOW the ingredients going into your food, and it’s also not just for bread. The only wee drawbacks are -- it is loud, and you must measure everything exactly (using measuring cups and spoons) or else it will not work -- BELIEVE ME!
