| AudreyT's Full Review: Black & Decker B2000 Bread Machine |
I am addicted to kitchen appliances. I am the type of person
that has to have all the newest kitchen gadgets but when breadmakers came on the market I really dragged my heals.
Finally they came down in price enough for me to jump on the bandwagon and I am glad I did. I shopped around a lot and finally found a horizontal breadmaker to my liking at the right price. I love it.
We have stopped buying bread in our household. We often just dump the ingredients into the breadmaker and set the timer to have fresh bread the next morning.
Some of the things I really like are the quick cycle that makes bread in less than 2 hours and the different settings. I have used most of them. I also like that it keeps the bread warm for 60 minutes after it is done so if I can't get to it right away it is still fresh.
I have used the dough setting for pizza dough and to make cinnamon roles. The only thing I did not like about that was the amount of work it was after the dough was made. The cinnamon roles required extra neading and resting time and since I only made 9 it wasn't really worth the effort. Next time I will make 18 and then I think it will be worthwhile. I did not really like the pizza dough but I think that is because I have a really quick recipe already like.
I have also enjoyed the cake recipes a lot and plan to use them more often instead of muffins.
Lastly but most importantly, I was worried when I found out I could not put it in the dishwasher but it is a snap to clean! No need for the dishwasher at all.
My only real complaint is the loaf shape but I know it is probably as close as you can get to a traditional horizontal loaf with a breadmaker.
