| arbiter's Full Review: Blizzard Action Figures |
The Protoss are my favorite race in Starcraft, they cost a little more but they are sooo effective. The Zealots are the first infantry available and they continue to be effective through the whole game but the action figure made to represent them falls short of their game reputation.
The Protoss Zealot figure is the least successfull figure in my opinion. The minimalist detail that works with the Terran Marine fails with this toy. The face has a lot of texture to it, I'll give this figure that but, the rest of the figure doesn't have any relief that impresses me. The psy blades on each forearm are a nice touch and I like how they can be removed but that's about all the fun this figure will provide. He is barely posable and lacks any hinges for his joints. His waist, neck and arms can only be twisted to a limited range of motion. I'm particularly disappointed with his hands. Not so much because of how they look, they're not that bad but because the same mold was used for both. I know I'm being picky but it's about attention to detail.
Another problem with the Zealot is that he is incredibly hard to balance. Once you get him to stand he can easily be knocked over as well. He's not made to be displayed on your monitor. This problem in balance is because of his feet not being long enough to support his back heavy body. His body is so back heavy because of the long braid or tentacle thing coming out of the back of his head and hanging down past his knees.
The Protoss, are my favorite race in Starcraft but I don't recommend the Zealot figure to anyone who isn't a hard core gamer or Protoss user.
