| arbiter's Full Review: Blizzard Action Figures |
Blizzard came out with three action figures from their popular game Starcraft. Which by the way, is my favorite game of all time. The figure I feel they were most successful with is the Terran Marine.
As with the other two, The Zerg Hydralisk and the Protoss Zealot, The Marine is simply made. They all lack the detail of Macfarlane toys and have limited movement but I feel this minimalist style works for them. If this was the look they were going for they've done it right. The Terran Marine looks much the same as they do in the video clips of the game. He has a fire extinguisher, lights and a yellow pack of some kind on his back. He also has excessive battle scaring all over his battle armour. His armour is not anatomically correct, no human body could fit in the suit but it still looks cool. He moves at his heels, knees, waist, shoulders, elbows, wrists and his neck. He comes with a big rifle that can be held in several ways due to arms mobility. there's no visor to cover his face like in the game which is too bad because he's ugly. In the game the marines colouring changes depending on your team. This marine is marked with blue on his shoulders, chest and back. This is the only colour that is easy to purchase. There is a limited red version with War Pig written on the shoulders that you can get through a mail order when you buy the game. Or at least you could. I was given an extra marine so I painted him red but didn't bother with the name.
If you like playing Starcraft than I recommend this figure for a tribute to all the hours that it has most likely sucked out of your life like it has mine. If your not into it than only buy him if you think he looks cool.
