I had avoided this toy for sometime now because the age recommended for the Handy Dandy Notebook is three years old and my oldest is two. Well, my son finally caught a glimpse of it at Wal-Mart and had to have it. How could I say no? He has Blue's Clues everything, he is even going to be Blue for Halloween (so what if Blue is a girl.) He has Blue's Clues shoes and clothes and movies. He just loves Blue! My one year old also loves the show.
The notebook looks just like the one Steve has on television, even the crayon looks likes Steve's. The notebook is green with a red spiral with seven front and back pages to draw that can be wiped off and be used over and over again. On the front of the notebook is a the red Thinking chair and on the inside of the front cover "This is _______'s Handy Dandy Notebook." is written on the inside of the back cover "You just figured out Blue's Clues because you're really smart?" is written.
My son loves this he has not but it down for three days and has not put it down yet, he even sleeps with it. He draws all day and really likes playing with it when Blue's Clues is on.
What I do not like about the toy. The spiral comes out far to easy. Every few minutes I find myself replacing it. This really upsets my son because he thinks the notebook is broken each time. The pages are really hard to wipe clean. Maybe I am trying to hard, but I wipe and wipe and sometimes the scribble remains. The last thing is that the green crayons are not sold to replace the Steve crayon if where to get broken. I know my son will be greatly disappointed when this happens.
Overall, this is a fun toy. My son loves it and the notebook gives him hours of fun. The Handy Dandy Notebook has already been worth the $4 that I spent on it.
