The Body Solid 1500s comes with a wide range of features compared to its price tag. Users can get a total body workout as it allows users to perform chest presses, ab crunches, pull downs, low rows, leg curls and leg extensions. It comes loaded with 160 lbs. of weight resistance adjustable in 10 lb. increments.
The maker of the Body Solid 1500s Home Gym has been in business for nearly 25 years, longer than I've been alive! We rarely ever see Body Solid units in the dojo because of their superb design and craftsmanship on all their units. If my recommendation alone wasn't enough, Body Solid backs their units, including the 1500s with an unprecedented lifetime warranty on everything, including frame, parts, and labor!
Because this is a bargain unit, the Body Solid 1500s doesn't include weight stack shrouds or a leg press. A leg press on this machine would make this the best home gym on the market. It also lacks in weight resistance. Most home gym users will find that 160 lbs. is too light for a home gym. Most customers prefer a 210 lb. weight stack or more, and most other home gyms in this price range usually offer an attachable weight stack and extra resistance for the weight stack that can be purchased later on if the user feels it is necessary. Unfortunately, the 1500s's inability to grow and expand with the user prevents me from giving this Home Gym my highest mark.
