Pros: Great book for getting ideas on how to build muscle
Cons: May be hard to find
The Bottom Line: I recommend this book, because for a small price you can gain a vast amount of knowledge, and eliminate lots of potential training mistakes.

Bodybuilding 101 Book
I bought this book at Borders Bookstore about a month ago. I wanted to get some ideas on how to build a more muscular body, without having to read through a bunch of muscle magazines that are full of ads. Enter Bodybuilding 101, a book that cuts through the ads and gives even the very beginner a place to start. The book costs around twenty dollars and has about 220 pages.
Pros
Great workout tips
I like how the author stresses for beginners not to overtrain. The first three months of lifting weights, your body should respond quickly, due to the sudden overload your body undertakes. Your first year of weightlifting should be all covered in this book.
General Weider Principles
These are given throughout being a beginner, intermediate and advanced lifting stages. Too many to discuss here but supersets, pyramid, and overloading muscles are discussed in the book
Supplements
Creatine and protein powders are discussed and their importance in building a healthy body. The author stresses a good, healthy diet INCLUDING supplements for greater success in the gym. Supplements will not promote "overnight" gains.
Exercises
Every body part is covered in this book! The author gives you several different exercises to try to gain strength and muscle. One like the front squat, is one hardly ever used but as effective (or more) than the standard squat.
Pictures
Lots of pictures to show you how to do the movements. Read very carefully and consult a doctor before trying anything that is listed. Good quality pictures were shown regarding every muscle in the human body.
Programs for all shapes and sizes
The author gives tips regardless if you are skinny or obese. He has chapters devoted on how to train to put on muscle weight, and a chapter to lose fat yet still gain muscle.
Personal Trainers
Do you need one? If your not familiar with a weight room than you may. Already an advanced lifter? A trainer can spot the way you train to eliminate costly mistakes. The author gives you advice to hire a trainer or not.
Cons
No color pictures
All pictures in the book are in black-and-white, really nothing to complain about because the pictures are still high-quality.
Hard to find
This effective training book may be looked over and never read for some. Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding may overshadow this book a bit.
Overall
You don't have to be a pro-bodybuilder to enjoy this book. I have had this a month and it has given me lots of different ways to train. Being 220 page book, I can't list all the details. I can say that this is just as good (or better) than subscribing to a muscle magazine full of ads, and paying a much higher price.
