| rauamoko's Full Review: Bolle Spiral Polarized Sunglasses - Special Buy |
The Bolle Spiral are an attractive looking pair of sunglasses and I use them for everything from hanging out at the beach through to working. As a geologist I spend a lot of time outside and need a pair of sunglasses that will go the distance. I purchased a pair of these glasses six months ago for deep-field use in Antarctica. They were selected for their polarized lenses and because they wrap around the face stopping light coming in from the sides. There were no issues with the extreme cold causing frame shrinkage, which I saw happen to a couple of other peoples glasses causing their lenses to drop out, and they allowed enough ventilation to come through around the frames to prevent fogging.
In warmer climates they perform just as well with little to no fogging occurring, even during a long mountain bike ride or hectic game of hacky-sack.
The polarized lenses really come into their own when I am out fishing on the boat as they cut out almost all of the light being reflected off the water. If you have ever been on the water traveling into the sun you'll know that it can be difficult to navigate easily.
The rubber on the tips of the arms and on the nose-bridge do a great job keeping the glasses in place even during vigorous activity.
