HSM 3 A Prom to Remember
Written: Oct 26 '09
Pros:Everything
Cons:Nothing
The Bottom Line: This is a great book for any High School Musical fan!
This was another book that my daughter received in her Easter basket last year. Like the other HSM 3 book that I got her, this was also $3.00 at Wal-Mart. Like the other book I got her, this is also a paperback book but it has a blue cover and has 23 pages in it. The cover features a picture of Troy and Gabriella together which makes perfect sense since the book is called High School Musical 3 Senior Year: A Prom to Remember.
A Prom to Remember
This book is based on the HSM 3 movie from Disney. Making Memories was a summary of the movie while A Prom to Remember is all about the prom in HSM 3. This story starts out with Troy and Gabriella after Troy and his basketball team won the championship. He asks Gabriella to go to the prom with him and of course she agrees. It was pretty sweet the way he asks her! In the story you also read about others coupling up for the prom. Zeke wants to take Sharpay and when he went to ask her, she pretty much demanded that he was going to take her before he even got a chance to ask and Chad had a surprise way of asking Taylor to go with him. What does he do? Does she say yes?
Later on Gabriella told Taylor that she had been accepted in the freshman honors program at Stanford. She confessed that she didn't know what to do because she didn't want to say good-bye to Troy and she also had the musical that she and Troy were supposed to star in. Gabriella didn't want to but she decided that she should go into the freshman honors program. Troy was upset that she had to leave but maybe Troy has a plan to still make prom night worth it for Gabriella even though she is not there? There is still the musical and graduation as well.........
My thoughts................... I thought this book was great to make a story of just a part of the HSM 3 movie. I think it's nice to be able to have many different books that take parts out of the movie. The reason why I like this idea is because some kids in the first or second grade may not be ready to read chapter books. At least this way, there are smaller books that they can continue to read and actually be able to read it themselves. Just like the other book that my daughter has, we love the pictures. The pictures in this book are also screenshots of the movie.
The text is easy to read for a first or second grader that has pretty much learned to read. The story is also easy to follow for those who still do not know how to read. I like how this book is only a part of HSM 3 because it allows for certain characters like Gabriella and Troy to be the main focus of the story and you can get a better feel for them or a better understanding of who they are. There are other books like this one that only tells a part of the movie allowing you to get to know about just a couple characters at one time as well. I recommend this book or any of the others to any HSM fan!
