I remember first reading this book in tenth grade. At first this book was very confusing and I was practically lost. After a while things started to make sense. I kind of figured that the story might have been taking place in the future.
The story is about mainly a man that is eventually going to break all the traditional rules. These so-called traditional rules, which are pretty like communism, determines just about everything in their society. Where people work, what their names are, and who will be on some made up board of people they made. It wasn't about the individual at all, it was about "we" as they would say it.
Well this guy I guess got fed up and started to oppose everything. He wanted to be more like an individual who does things for himself, and not for the higher people. Since he decided to no longer follow the rules of the society, the people decided to get rid of him. At the same time there are others who are starting to decide not to follow the rules, and its starting to become a mess.
The outcome of the story... well you have to read the book for that one. This book does contain some romance in it
