Pros: Excellent read. Well developed characters, dialogue and story line. The author made it easy.
Cons: There are very little cons with the book. There are some slow moments in book.
Catching fire is the highly sequel to the Hunger Games. Katniss finds herself as the unwitting voice for the movement against the Capitol. Katniss is a young girl, who does what she feels is necessary to survive and at the same time help those who shows her loyalty first. Katniss is unaware of a "character" that has always loved her and tries to protect her in the dome.
The author draws you in to the emotional turmoil and strength of each character. You will be cheering for each character while hating the capitol at the same time. I couldn't put the book down and had to know what happened at the end of the book.
Some parts of the book was predictable and a little slow. But it didn't make me want to put the book down.
Catching fire does have elements of violence, light romance and overall I would give it a rating of PG-13, if you have a teenager that is interested in reading the series.
Now that it's 2011, you can purchase all three book series without waiting. Trust me, as soon as you read Hunger Games you will want to read Catching Fire and Mockingjay. One behind the other; these stories are so well written and exciting. You will have to force yourself to book the books down.
