This is the second book of the mortal instruments series, and I must say it was better than the first. We left off with Valentine going through the portal, Clary's mother in deep sleep, Clary finding out that her mother's friend Luke is a werewolf and Clary finding out Jace is her brother. Now in this book, there are new characters like Maia, a spunky werewolf and we get to find out more about our favorite characters. We also get to learn more about Magnus and Alec relationship. Isabelle is more feisty than ever and she is even dating a faerie knight. Clary's mother is not getting any better. We also learn that Valentine is after another mortal instrument and he is using it to control demons, and not just any demons either, these are greater demons. There is more action than ever, like Jace being locked in bone city, the death of most of the Silent Brothers, a visit to a faerie court, a big battle in a massive ship and Clary and Jace getting closer despite everything. In this book, Clary and Simon also start to date each other and something awful happens to Simon, his life will never be the same again. In this book there is more action, more romance, and more everything.
