fresca's Full Review: Laura Joffe Numeroff - If You Give a Mouse a Cooki...
Have you ever had one of those days....the kind when you never get anything done because you have so many interruptions and detours along the way?
For example, on a typical day with my Grand daughter Ill greet her at the door, bring in the morning paper, get my cup of tea, remove the shredded paper from her chubby little fist, clean up the spilled tea, change her dress (now wet from the spilled tea), put in a load of wash so I can clean her dress before the tea leaves a stain, remove the toy from the toilet, wash her hands, fix breakfast....and so the day progresses.
If any of this sounds familiar you will adore Laura Joffe Numeroffs bookIf You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
The book starts out, If you give a mouse a cookie, hes going to ask for a glass of milk. When you give him the milk, hell probably ask you for a straw...The book progresses in this same manner.
This is a childrens book, but adults will enjoy the humor as well.
Felicia Bond charmingly illustrates the book. Each page has one short line and a full color cartoon like illustration with lots of detail and whimsy.
