Pros: Helpful tips, lists of questions, a good place to organize thoughts, tells you how.
Cons: A lot of info in each section. Should have been broken down into smaller subsections.
The Bottom Line: Buy this book if you are up against time and/or your budget, or just have no idea where to start.

General
I received this book as an engagement gift from my mother. My engagement has been both short and hectic, and the book really helped my groom and I set our priorities and work together on what we want for our wedding and reception.
Layout
The book is formatted into 5 sections: First Things First; Where?! When?!; One Fabulous Party, Coming Right Up!; Shop Around the Clock!; and The Big Day!, as well as a Resources Section. Each section, exclusive of the resources section, has a handy little pink tab so that you can actually locate it again when you are looking for it, instead of flipping through the entire book.
Features
It provides a countdown checklist, which, instead of stressing you out like most of those in bridal catalogues, actually helps you tackle the items on it. There are also places for all your vital contacts, such as the wedding coordinator, your Maid of Honor, Photographers, Bakers, Florists, etc.
Each section also has unique workbooks to help you and your groom work together on creating the wedding- a novel idea! There are spaces to write his thoughts and her thoughts, priorities checklists to help you understand what the other person wants, and helpful summaries of what % of the money goes where.
Writing Style
This is written very informally so that anyone can read it and honestly plan their wedding from it. The reading is concise and to the point, and broken up by many helpful diagrams, cute pictures, and tables, such as an order of events table in The Big Day! section.
There are many "Quick Tips" throughout the sections, and lists of questions to ask your prospective caterers, florists, etc.
The author even tells you how to word save the dates, the invitations themselves, and thank you notes. She also recognizes the stress that the bride is usually under when planning a wedding with limited time and a limited budget, and slips in some words of humor and advice to help soothe. Tremendously helpful.
