-Growing up my father and his family always played poker, and I was fascinated by the game, as I progressed into adulthood I realized what a cash cow this game could be.
So what about Ken's Book? Well it was the first poker book I ever read. Ken breaks it down to the basics explaining position, good starting hands, how to play lower limit games, and what to look for in a card game(Casino based or a home game). The author also divulges a few juicy hints on the "Science of Tells"
Please Sir I want some more...
The book goes into facts and information about structured betting games, as well as No Limit play. The author does an excellent job of explaining both types of play and how each type is different from one another. Moreover he gives you insights into how to approach different players at the table. I mean how many times have you played with some lunatic who seems to be winning but you can't understand how with hands like 7-2 off suit? Well he calmly explains what to do in situations with different personality types: (Aggressive, Passive-Aggressive, Sandbaggers, and Conservative)
Alright lunch people!
Well after reading this book I could see a substantial increase in my winnings both at cash and tournament play. I felt much more confident in my moves while playing. Most importantly it helped me understand my opponents and laid the ground work for me to become a better card player
