Preface: If you haven't gathered from the title of this book, it is about anal sex. It would be impossible to review the Anal Sex chapter of the Masterclass series without being frank about the subject matter. If this topic, or sex in general, offends you then please, do not read any further.

Maybe it's just me but I don't see why people get so uptight when the subject of anal sex comes up. I'm no where near the league of Mila and Chloe when it comes to anal sex but you know, there are times when it can be a most enjoyable experience. Most guys covet this as one of their big fantasies but once it actually happens they are disappointed because its been built up to be some mega experience when in reality its nothing more than a tighter fit. When done properly it can be a mind blowing experience, when done incorrectly it can be something that could land you sleeping on the couch for a few nights. Before you even think about it, don't try the "Oops, wrong hole" trick because you'll only get one chance to have that little slip up.

Masterclass: Anal Sex is a well done book. It's more of a step by step guide to trying anal sex and if you and your partner are open minded there are advanced techniques that you can employ to spice things up even more. Needless to say, this isn't something that you leave sitting on the coffee table for guests to see unless you want to send out the vibe of a threesome or moresome. One thing that does irk me is the stigma of anal sex being dirty or taboo. It’s not like people just started having anal intercourse – it's been happening for centuries. This is not the Kama Sutra of anal sex. It explains anal sex, trigger points, erogenous zones and how to make it an almost painless experience. This will not turn you into a slobbering anal sex monster or make chicks buckle at the knee when you are drilling them. It's educational, not entertaining.

What's in Masterclass: Anal Sex? The book contains information about your first anal experiences, getting over the nervousness of the event, lubes and toys, positions, advanced techniques, delaying orgasm and clitoral stimulation during the act. Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anything about anal beads. The book contains text, photographs and illustrations of the subject matter and because of the adult content it is not something that should be left sitting out in the open. I don't consider this porn. I also don't consider it something that kids of any age should ever be able to see or get a hold of.

This book can be used by hetero and homosexual [male / male] couples as well as female / female couples that experiment with toys. You will need to use your imagination to recreate some of the positions and scenarios in the book if you are a male / male or female / female couple. It starts with some anatomy basics and it simply amazes me that some people are completely clueless about the elasticity of the human anus. I have seen porns of girls fitting regulation sized footballs in their rectum so if you look at your partner's member and say, "That is not going to fit", well, after you read Masterclass: Anal Sex you will have to find a new excuse.

There's no easy way to approach the subject of anal sex; if you are a female and you are curious about it and want to try it you might be hesitant to bring up the subject with your mate. Likewise, if you are a male and want to try it you might meet a lot of resistance from the other party. Masterclass: Anal Sex has both photographs and illustrations showing various positions as well as things that you can do before the actual act takes place. Using a finger or adult toy to get over the initial feeling can make the actual act a lot less stressful. One thing that book doesn't do is condone any type of forced act; it has to be something that both parties want to try or it simply isn't going to have a good outcome.

Some books about anal sex depersonalize it. From my side of the fence I can see how they come off reading like stereo instructions because of some of the most common positions that are suggested. Masterclass: Anal Sex has a variety of positions for couples that want an erotic, exotic but romantic encounter. The face to face positions might be a little too intense for newbies because, lets be blunt, chicks can make some utterly hysterical faces when getting drilled. Even though some of it comes off as something you might read in a chick-oriented romance / smut novel, there are some great points to it. One thing that I was impressed with was the even amount of information for both parties. If the male is penetrating and digitally manipulating the female erogenous zones there is a comparable action / actions that the female / other party can be doing at the same time.

Once you get past the visuals that are provided there is a lot of practical information for both parties. One thing that most people worry about is the presence of feces in the target area. There are a couple of ways to tackle that and they are covered in the book; I don’t think people are going to be running out and stocking up on enemas to prepare for an anal encounter so the tips offered in the book can eliminate some of the doubts or misconceptions about this part of anal sex. It is something that can be used by anyone, at any age. The only thing you need is an open mind and the ability to relax and enjoy.

Could you give this as a bridal shower gift? That all depends on how well you know the bride-to-be and if she has expressed a hankering to give it a try. I wouldn't hand this to her in front of other people so put it in a gift bag and tell her to open it later. EPS has some interesting titles, Anal Sex is something that shows you the basics of the act without cheesing it up or making it seem like it is going to be the greatest orgasm you will ever have. Simply put, its nothing more than a tighter fit. I’d suggest this to people who are looking for a beginners guide to anal sex but there are some extremely interesting things added to the last few sections of the book once you have experimented and both parties have gotten over the initial fright, nervousness and jitters involved with it.
