jaymelee024's Full Review: Chelsea Handler - My Horizontal Life: A Collection...
This short-story collection written by comedian Chelsea Handler (host of the late night televison show "Chelsea Lately") will have you literally laughing out loud. I must say that I was extremely surprised as I don't find Chelsea's show all that funny. The book is a short (213 pages) easy read that I read in one sitting, it was THAT good. The book is comprised of all the tales of the men Chelsea has met through her journey in the dating field, some of which she hooks up with (or tries) and all of the horribly funny things that go wrong when having random sex with a stranger. I think that everyone can find a story in this book that they relate to, or at least find one story that they think is hysterical. Although I initially felt this book would be a better read for women in their 20s and 30s, two of my male friends read it and found it to be hysterical. Therefore, I think the book is best suited for anyone in their 20s and 30s looking for a good laugh. This book does have a lot of vulgar language and lots of references to sex, drinking, etc., so if this offends you, steer clear!
Just as a side note, I titled this review "the female tucker max" because that is exactly what she is like. For those of you who don't know, Tucker Max is a male that writes about his hillarious hookups with random women. If you like anything he has done you are sure to like this book.
