Frank Joseph and Laura Beaudoin - Opening the Ark of the Covenant: The Secret Power of the Ancients, the Knights Templar Connection, And the Search for the Holy Grail
thetemplar's Full Review: Frank Joseph and Laura Beaudoin - Opening the Ark ...
Since Dan Browns Da Vinci Code made the Knights Templar a household name, the market has been flooded with a wide-variety of books, all with a similar approach that the Knights Templar were in possession of some holy relic or another. In the case of Opening the Ark of the Covenant, that artifact was none other than well the title pretty much tells you that.
But if this were just another book about how the Templars discovered the sacred Ark of the Covenant, then we could just chock it up to more speculation. However, the authors of this book make so many wild speculations that the book would do well to be listed as fiction. We are told that the Knights Templar did not guard a single road nor make any attempts to recruit members, when the Templars own documents clearly make the claim that they did. But, it is unlikely that the authors consulted any of the primary source materials when crafting this book.
Those interested in learning about the Templars would be best to consult more academic treatments of the subject. Those interested in fanciful and wildly imaginative works on the Templars would do better to read one of the many novels written about the Order in recent years.
