HomeMediaBooksGeoffrey Household - Rogue Male
Opinion Summary
The "best thrillers ever written"? Well, an absorbing, outlandish tale at least.
by Stephen_Murray | Oct 07 '08
Pros: chase scenes
Cons: upper-class British smugness, too much on making himself comfortable in hiding

for that link to Rolling Stone's article. I'm still reading it. Thought I'd put link on my profile page.

I fear I haven't read many of these either... (Reply to this comment)

But these do sound like some good reads! Thank you for looking them up, they sound interesting, and good for a winter's evening. As always an excellent review. -- Telynor

I've (Reply to this comment)

got a crap copy of Rogue Male starring Peter O'Toole. The target is Hitler, as you said, and that opens the story but he is then hunted by another hunter with him the prey. Pretty good movie and wish the DVD were better.

I've only read The 39 Steps.

As for the list, besides shirking any blame, I can't take any credit for it either!

Buchan... (Reply to this comment)

I did rather enjoy the Richard Hannay quartet by Buchan, and numerous other of his more obscure works (Prester John, etc.). The rest of the books on the list, I shall have to make a point of seeking out. Thanks for the notification, good sir, and for the review.
