Not being a fan of fantasy/adventure stories, it was rare indeed that I should pick this book to read but I was intrigued by a young author having his first novel published. It is an easy read as far as understanding events but there are many places/characters with foreign names so I found myself in the dictionary looking up words to find the hidden meanings.
The story flows well. As I was reading, I was intrigued by the many mystical lands the characters visited and the vivid imagery. There are many details in this book that made me feel like I was actually there.
There is deep character development, even among lesser characters. I really had a sense of each character's unique personality. The characters were in no way cookie-cutter or fake.
All in all, this novel was well put together. I found it hard to put down. I recommend this book to anyone.
