Pros:Great read!
Cons:Stick through the beginning, it is worth it.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a book that you cannot put down, and don't want it to come to an end, this is your book!
The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson will blow you away. It was a captivating read from beginning to end. It is ultimately a love story, but unlike any other love story you've ever read.
The main character is not easy to like, especially in the beginning. He is a man with many issues, to say the least. After a tragic car accident that should have killed him, he was left
severely burned and has to spend months in the hospital burn ward. Soon begins to have a woman named Marianne Engle who visits him there. She claims that she is his wife that he married hundreds of years ago. The burn patient begins to look forward to her visits, mostly to listen to her incredible stories about her friends from different centuries and places all over the world. Is she a schizophrenic or is there some truth to her stories? The Gargoyle will have you believing in the impossible.
This is the author’s first book, and it is amazing. I bought this book after seeing an interview he did on the news. I thought I should check it out and I am so glad that I did. It’s been months since I've read this book and I still find myself thinking about the characters. I highly recommend!!
