is officially piqued. With cryptic wordplay...I would bet Dianapinions would also like this one...she is Queen of the turned phrase. I have three books currently awaiting...I am going to write this one down so I don't forget.

hey there Victoria...
I always feel a little guilty publishing a review after reading one by another. Which is why I usually focus on 'firsties'.
But I have always had a love of Thurber and this one was impossible to resist after reading your excellent review and then finding our local library actually had a copy.
This just might get me started on a Thurber-reading jag . . .I wonder how many more the library has..??

You're right about having to actively engage with the story. I read it first really late at night and thought it was pretty trippy. It made a little more sense (and was a whole lot more fun) upon reading it when my brain was turned on.
Glad you got to try it too! Enjoyed reading your take on it very much.
