on the details of this. I am very familiar with ADD I know a few people that have it and I have read the book to try and help.It does give a lot of help to people who have this but to the people who want to understand it like myself as well.

They do suggest toward the beginning of the book that it might be handy for folks who live with ADD people as well. I had no idea how many of the things I did might be colored by my ADD. Once I knew the full range of possible symptoms, I found myself looking at my life in a totally different way. I think it's helping my husband to understand, too.

For me it was diet. I gather now that only about 5% of kids with ADD respond to diet, so I guess I was lucky. It did mean that I didn't get to have chocolate until high school, though. :}

This sounds excellent. I'm an ADD kid, got diagnosed a couple years before it became chic, and this is definitely the kind of authorial attitude I could learn from. I'll look for this -and I'll likely try to get my wife to read some passages, just for understanding.

best,
- Brian

I'm going out and buying this book today. I was diagnosed with ADD and hyperactivity disorder when I was in the 5th grade. I'm now 34 and still dealing with it. When I was young there wasn't much known about ADD and there wasn't any meds for kids like me, instead they did horrible things to me like making me where a pair of side blinders (like the kind you see on a horse thats pulling a cart on a busy street) when I was in class. They also made me put little triangle things on my pencils to keep them from rolling around and drawing my attention away from the teacher. Anyway, enough of my pitiful story. I'm off to Barnes & Noble. Thanks Owling

I do love the title of this book. I can relate to it. ;) It actually serves as a very nice example of the authors' sense of humor.

And thank you!
