| howie07's Full Review: Bosch Nexxt® 500 WFMC3301 Front Load Washer |
I spent several months researching 1)the advantages of front load vs top load 2) the brand offerings 3) The best deal. My findings lead me to the Bosch Nexxt. Without going into great detail, I can tell you that in my research with Consumer Reports, Epinions, and Sales people, the Bosch was certainly an attractive option. I was interested in the energy savings, the potential for cleaner clothes, but most importantly, I was interested in how this machine treated our clothes. While the on-line reviews and Consumer Reports were compelling, it was a exuberant co-worker that turned the tide for me. She recently bought a Bosch W/D and would tell anyone about how pleased she is without one really asking. That kind of testimony is quite infectious.
I can report that her gushing is justified. Our Bosch does as advertised. It cleans, saves energy, and treats my wife's new clothes with a gentleness not found in my not so old Top loader.
My one caveat is that when one is considering ANY front load, he or she needs to remember that we are not in Kansas anymore. Several reviews scorned that the loads take longer; that clocks default to the original time of wash; that surely it cannot wash with so little soap. These machines are run by load, soap, and water condition computer sensors. In fact, one sales person talked about how computerized these things are. There are very few-if any- mechanical features that are user accessible.
Please read the manual and follow it to the letter and there will be very little trouble with these new format machines.
