| Trans2's Full Review: Bosch 3915 Sliding Compound Miter Saw |
First let me say that I have been involved with some form of woodworking, home improvement projects, DIY projects, etc... for more than thirty years. I am not a professional, but I do know my way around tools. With that said, let me say that this is one of the best, if not the best miter saw that I have come across. I have an old Delta compound saw that has seen better days. I had my eye on this saw for some time. When I saw it in Home Depot for $329 I grabbed it. I had it for about two months and have used it for a number of projects. I have used it to cut oak moldings and boards and it didn't miss a beat. I have read the other reviews that mentioned set-up, packaging etc... First let me say that if you order something of this size and weight you are bound to find something sticking out of the carton. Truck drivers and deliverymen are not the most gentlest of people. As far as set-up I haven't used any type of saw miter, table, scroll, etc... that didn't need some type of tweaking out of the box. AS far as saw dust I won't even go there. The detent stops are accurate and the over ride to make fine adjustments is a welcome feature. I do have to agree that a dual bevel saw would make the cutting go quicker, but the few that I looked at were more money than the Bosch and not as well made. All in all I think this saw is well worth the money and a good investment for anyone that has use for this type of saw.
