Researched the hell out of many dishwashers using Consumer Reports, Epinions, etc. We bought the Bosch from Sears because of many good reviews and JD Power awards for quietness and reliability. The washer IS very quiet which we love.
The washer stopped working on 10/23/07 and I was dismayed to learn that Sears cannot send out repair techs to take a look at it. So beware of the Sears Master Protection Plan. We bought the 3yr coverage. When I called Sears, I was told the soonest someone could come to look at the washer was 1.5 weeks from that day (11/4/07). Totally unacceptable.
I then called Bosch and they gave me four or five repair outfits in Austin that could service the machine. I found Mr. Appliance could be at my house two days from calling them (10/25/07). I'm now waiting for the power module to ship and Mr Appliance to come back out to replace the button (ETA 11/2/07).
I'll report back in a few months with an update on my experiences with this washer.
UPDATE 11/18/07:
Nuts, after replacing the circuit board and the power module, each taking about a week to order from somewhere far away from Austin,TX. The repair guy from Mr. Appliance finally figures out there's nothing wrong with the washer after all, it is the power outlet in the wall that is partially faulty!! What an ordeal but we cannot fault Bosch at all in this mess. I'm removing the negative review I gave this dishwasher earlier.
During all this, Sears had a minimum of a week and a half to two weeks wait time before they could even send someone to look at the washer.
