Pros: It works! ... fits bosch bases well, thumbscrews make it easy to install/uninstall
Cons: Vacuum hose adapter doesn't seem to fit Shopvac hose very well

I have the 1617EVS and the plunge base (bought separately). I have been wondering if this was worth the price. You have answered the question well.
