pstemari's Full Review: Bosch Evolution™ 700 HGS7282U Gas Range
I just had this delivered a couple weeks ago, and these are my initial impressions.
The cooktop is excellent. It has a nice range of burner capacity and you can get pans hot enough for a good sear. The knobs have a good feel and operate very smoothly. A huge improvement from GE's products.
The oven is quick to preheat, and the convection feature does speed cooking a fair amount. The "auto conversion" feature, which lowers the temperature 25 deg F from your setting, is annoying, but easily turned off. I haven't figured out exactly what the difference between convection bake and convection roast is. I suspect the latter may use the broiler burner as well as the oven burner and the heating element associated with the convection fan.
The broiler, which I had high hopes for, has been a disappointment. It doesn't get hot enough for serious browning, even when the rack is at the highest position.
The controls are OK, but not stellar. Having two timers is nice, but it's annoying that you can't display the time remaining. A minute or to after you start the timer it disappears and is replaced by the clock display. I haven't found a way to redisplay the timer without resetting it. Also, the knob for spinning through the settings only changes things every other click, which is annoying when you're trying to get a small adjustment.
Warming drawer is so far a feature in search of a use. I'd just as soon have a storage drawer.
I haven't tried the proofing or drying features yet.
Update: The proofing feature on this is fabulous. Perfect for dough and making yogurt. Warming drawer works fine, but I don't have much use for it.
The time remaining can be displayed by rotating the control knob.
