After two months of using my new Bosch WAS20160UC, I continue to wish I had bought another type of washer. My main complaint, besides the truly inadequate owner's manual, is that you cannot use chlorine bleach. I realize that chlorine bleach has become an environmental no-no, but there is no substitute when you're doing laundry for elderly people or people who are ill, incontinent, or have other "staining" issues. What my Bosch saves in energy efficiency is lost in extra labor: MY labor. Every individual stain, even those on sheets and in underwear, must be individually treated with stain remover. Peroxide laundry aids help, the pre-soak cycle helps, but they do not do the trick; white clothing and sheets have turned permanently gray in a matter of months. Add to all this that the machine must be wiped down inside and out, including the dispenser tray, after every use to prevent mold. I truly resent the way this machine demands my time and energy.
And who came up with the brilliant idea of having a constantly repeated beeping at the end of the wash (which I often would like to let sit for awhile), but no signal at all when the matching dryer is finished? In most washer/dryers, it's the opposite. Which is as it should be.
Think twice before falling for this high-tech but barely adequate machine.
