realopinion's Full Review: Bose Acoustic Wave II (17817391207) Shelf System
I guess I'm here because my Bose CD quit working just months out of the 1 year warrantee. To say these things are overpriced is obvious. Hopefully that comes with some expectation of quality. However, it turns out that these are no different from any other electronic item these days .. designed for low use and limited life.
If you absolutely must have good sound along with small size and easy operation this is a good unit to consider. However a single CD???? This is very old school. And against the price? You can easily find much better sounding units for the money, they just take up some more space, and they offer far more options.
I'm really dissapointed that this unit has failed, in the typical cheap CD player way. It just wont' spin the CD fast enough to let the CD play music.
Judge for yourself. Were it me again, a little over a year ago I would've bought a surround sound unit for about $400 and been much happier. The high price does not guarantee quality.
