The Bose name carries a lot of consumer clout. The Bose Acoustic Wave II Shelf System is a killer system in a small box.
For anyone wanting concert quality sound, but does not desire a rack of stereo equipment in their living room...the Bose Acoustic Wave II Shelf System is a perfect match.
It's small enough to carry anywhere, yet powerful enough to fill a room with rich sound. The CD player and radio provide everything you need in basic listening.
You can also hook up any MP3 player to the Wave machine and produce excellent results. The Bose Acoustic Wave II can even be used in a wireless microphone setup! The unit is great for social events such as weddings where people have to address a crowd.
The case is very sturdy and can easily withstand the bumps and bounces in a car trunk of the back of a van. The controls are all made very close to the body, so accidental damage is minimized during transport.
You can use AC power or batteries with the unit, making it truly portable.
The sound quality? I had one of the units at my home for a test run. It was set up to play different type music while I waited in another room...starting with a basic piano CD. I would have SWORN that a real piano was in the next room.
Pop songs and jazz were phenomenal. The design of the system really packs a lot into a small space! The only area that it is strained with is a full orchestra. The unit does a remarkable job...but a full orchestra is at its limit, and it shows from time to time. Understandable, as the number of different sound elements is often overwhelming. Still, most people would find even a full orchestra's sound very good. Much better than other compact stereos. Emphasis on MUCH.
