smirnoff16's Full Review: BOSS AUDIO SYSTEMS DVD7000 Car DVD Player
After throwing my Apex AD-1500 at the customer service representative at WalMart, I was asked the question: ''Would you like another brand or do you want a refund?''... After a moment of silence, I told myself, ''Why not try another brand? Afterall, nothing can be worst than the Apex''. So I went to see what else WalMart had to offer me.
I didn't feel the need, nor did I have the money, to spend 500 dollars on a DVD player. So, I limited my choice to a cheaper, yet decent, DVD player. Of course, maybe the 500 dollar DVD player had a much better image and sound quality, but I was only going to hook it up on a very cheap and basic GoldStar t.v. In short, anything that could be turned on and off and that could play my DVD without all the bells and whistles was going to make the job.
The sanyo 7000 was priced at 200$ at the time. It looks very nice and classy. The unit has a retractable cd tray that looks solid and durable. The push buttons on the unit however look very cheap. Sometimes, I have the tendency to press a bit too hard on the buttons, and I feel them going a bit deeper than normal. I think that the durability of the buttons on the unit is very questionable. The LCD display is no different. Some letters appearing on it look dimmer than the ones beside it. This doesn't look very good. The remote control is very toy-like. It's made in cheap grey plastic. However, I didn't have any problems pressing on the buttons. I didn't encounter and interference with other units when using the remote control.
Of course, the Sanyo 7000 also has many positive sides to it. The sound and image quality is exceptional. The remote control offers many options such as subtitle, audio, on screen, surround, angle replay, setup, title, picture mode, multi vision, angle, zoom, repeat, search mode, return, last memo, a-b repeat, program and of course stop/play rewind/forward. The DVD player also serves as a cd/mp3/mpeg player.
In conclusion, the Sanyo 7000 is a very good purchase especially if you're looking for a DVD player that will do the job without spending too much. I definetely recommend it. I invite to go read my review on the Apex A-1500 to warn you about buying cheap dvd players. I hope this helped you in making your decision. :-)
