sunstreeks's Full Review: Bottle&Nipple Brush From Munchkin
Cleaning 8 baby bottles every night is a pain. Especially with my daughter being on soy formula because it tends to leave more of a film on the inside of the bottle then with milk based formulas. I use the dishwasher to clean our bottles and accessories but always scrub the bottles first with this Munchkin Bottle & Nipple Brush and it works great.
The brush has wide grip handle easy to hold on to with a nylon brush at one end that also has foam like pad at the end to get the bottom of the bottle. Inside the handle is a pull out smaller brush to get inside the nipples. We only use Dr Brown Bottles at our house and being that its 10 inches long it fits perfectly inside. There are times I get frustrated because of my own neglect to pay attention when pulling it out of the bottle and having the bristles spray me with water.
It rinses easily and can be left out on the counter to air dry but to deep clean it, it can be tossed in the dishwasher every couple of days or more so if youre germa-phobic to keep it clean. The nylon bristles are built to last so they can take this constant washing. The inside brush has a few holes to allow any water to drain that was left on the brush when put back together. I worry a bit that this could raise the bacteria issue so I let ours dry out before replacing back into the brush. Yes Im one of those germa-phobic kind of people. I think most new mothers are.
My grandmother bought one to use when my cousins little girl was a baby and was visiting almost everyday a few years ago. She continues to buy them when needed for her daily dishwashing. She loves it for cleaning glasses and other containers she cant get her hands in. It should be replaced every so often if its being used for more than just bottles because I noticed my grandmas was a bit discolored. Ours is only a few months old and still looks clean and new but we only use it for bottles so Im not sure how often it really needs replacing.
They come in a variety of different colors. We have a blue one but you can also get red, yellow and pink. I'm not sure if there are any others. I beleive I saw purple at target.
They are around $4.50 in stores. Ours was a gift but I've seen them at Target, Fred Myers, Wal-Mart, Babies R' Us and Toys R Us
