As a 10 year gym-goer, I can say that this by far the best quality and most versatile home gym on the market today. The product is very well built and durable. The number of exercises that can be done is also very favorable.
Don't think that this or any home machine can replace $100,000 worth of gym equipment. However, after just a few days of training on Bowflex, I was able to maintain the same strength training routine I performed at a major chain gym, WITHOUT THE 45 MINUTE COMMUTE---AWESOME!
I purchased the Bowflex XTL with the intention that I would use it for 6 weeks (the 6 week challenge) and return it. No way! Now I have the luxury of working out in the comfort of my own home whenever it's convenient for me. Although the price tag is a bit high, Bowflex has given me the quality workouts I have always been used to for the past 6 months. As long as you're not a power lifter, this machine can accomodate most any strength training or toning regimen. As far as quality goes, I've seen the rods on competitor machines and they don't even begin to compare. Bowflex powerrods are guaranteed for life and I've been trying for 6 months to wear them out but have failed so far.
I wouldn't recommend Bowflex, or any home gym to people who aren't naturally motivated to exercise or anyone who likes going to the gym to stare at the opposite sex. If it's a quality home you want, then you may find it in Bowflex.
