| blank22's Full Review: Bowflex Power Pro XTL |
I bought an XTL with all the attachments and an extra set of power rods (310 total). First off, the XTL with all the attachments is MUCH bigger than it looks on tv. It's no wonder they basically only show the basic model without the leg and lat attachment. When those are installed, the Bowflex is a pretty good sized piece of equipment.
If you don't have ample room in your house/apartment, don't get the leg attachment. It adds about another two feet to the length of the machine. With the leg attachment on, the Bowflex is around seven feet long. I haven't whipped out the tape measure, and measured it, but since I had a lot of space to put the Bowflex, I didn't bother. If you live in cramped quarters, do some careful measuring and be absolutely sure that it will fit.
I think the squat attachment is very awkward. It's kind of a pain in the butt dealing with the chains. I would recommend saving yourself a hundred bucks, and disregard the squatt attachment option.
Besides what I have mentioned above, the Bowflex has no other flaws that I can think of. Sure, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for.
The workout is just as good as any gym workout you can get. If you are a power-lifter or body builder, obviously a gym membership is a wiser choice. For someone who just wants to tone their body or add a few pounds of muscle, this home gym is your best bet.
