| pichu210's Full Review: Bowflex Xtreme 2 |
This is the second piece of Bowflex equipment that I have purchased. Why did I get rid of the first? Simply because I felt that the Xtreme2 seemed like a better piece of equipment and I had certainly gotten my monies worth out of the first one. In fact it was still in such good shape that I was able to sell it for almost half of what I had paid for it.
Shipping was great. I received the equipment in 2-1/2 weeks after ordering.
Assembly is a snap, but two people are necessary to assemble the cable system. It is also necessary that the manual be read completely. With prior experience assembling and disassembling the old piece of equipment, it took 1-1/2 hours to read the instructions and put the Xtreme2 together.
All parts are metal. No cheap plastic here. You pay a hefty price for that though.
I don't know if it is the difference in the tension since the machine is new or if it is a difference in my workout, but I can feel the burn in my arms and abs.
The Xtreme2 is not a lot different than the Bowflex that I had, but having a new piece of equipment always motivates me.
Was it worth the $1399 price to get a new one? Probably not. Not that there is anything at all wrong with the equipment. It is just too similar to my previous equipment.
The Bowflex line is wonderful equipment and always provides a great workout. Just make sure that if you are switching off one piece of equipment for another that there are enough differences to warrant the change.
