There has been ample debate, since their first release---electric toothbrushes vs. manual. Stick to manual! Especially when it comes to the Oral B. The company brags about the high rotations ripping plaque to shreds, too, but it makes mince meat of your gums, also. Plus, most people don't even know how to hold an electric toothbrush---hold it like a pen, not with a fist, and the grip vastly effects your control. My Oral B was recommend by a handsome hygienist. I took him at his word. I should have been clued in on my first use, when, applying the whirring brush to my mandibles, I could feel my teeth shaking in their sockets. I thought it was from the tremoring of the burring brushes, but it turned out to be from fear, because this tootbrush, two months later, has simple annihilated my gums. I stopped before they were totally decimated, but now I have all of these nasty shelves and cliffs where once my gums hugged the necks of my teeth. This is a reprehensible product. It's hard to determine how long you should hold it to each tooth, the proper motion, and you can taste the salt of your blood in your mouth afterwards. Plus, quite obnoxiously, the engine cuts out at the top of every minute, to tell you long you've been brushing, but it totally destroys your brushing rhythm! Steer clear! Your gums will most copiously thank you!
