Pros: It performs better than a standard toothbrush
Cons: It is rugged on the gums and is not as durable as it could be
The Bottom Line: If your teeth and gums are perfect to start with this is a below avreage product. If your gums and teeth have problems it definitely is not for you.

| jrhaz's Full Review: Braun Oral B Ultra Solo Plaque Remover D 9511 |
I purchased the Braun Oral B Plaque Remover Ultra D 9525 Electric Toothbrush a year and a half ago and only have my wife to thank for taking it off my hands. I got it because I have had gum problems and even had bone grafts at one point. I needed more help than extra light duty toothbrushes to help cleanse out the POCKETs below the gum line that form and cater to gum disease.
The first thing that I want to tell you about this toothbrush is that my dental care professional informed me after I had been using it a while that it was not a very effective toothbrush for a person with bad gums. Also, it was detrimental for a person with receding gums. I really didn't need them to tell me that because I am not an idiot and was noticing that fact already.
This thing OSCILLATES which grinds your gums to a PULP if you have sensitive gums. It IRRITATES the nerves near the base of your teeth making them hurt when you drink cold water, and does NOT get particles below the surface of your gums.
After the last bleeding gum speech at the dentist, I retired this thing to my wife, who has teeth and gums that are hard as nails. She really liked the toothbrush. The brushes wore out much more quickly than expected, and were fairly expensive to buy. Seems like she went through three sets of them in the year before it died. I will give this thing some credit. When it went, it went without warning, no gradual death like most electrical products.
OVERALL SNOPSIS.......
A few parting thoughts.................
1. This thing lasted a bit over a year which in my opinion is not adequate for a product of its kind.
2. It was rather expensive to operate over the course of that year and it only really satisfied ONE of us over that time period.
3. If you are aperson with very healthy gums and teeth this may be for you, if not, it will cause you a lot of pain.
4. There is also one ther factor.
5. The toothbrush which I have at the present time is one that I am eternally grateful for. My hygenist noticed between cleanings the difference in my teeth and gums. (Nothing was said after I purchased the Braun) and that fact pretty much speaks for itself.
