Pros: It works, is efficient and hair does not grow back very fast.
Cons: Can be painful...must exfoliate first..and only runs with cord.
I bought the Braun Epilator for one specific area..I am starting to get some annoying chin hairs and starting to get some on my neck. Ten years ago I had three hair...now I must have dozens. For years I used to tweeze them out..but it is getting to be annoying and time consuming and I was becoming a tweezer junkie..had them stashed all over the house even in the car.
So I bought the Lady Braun pink Epilator and was a bit timid at first for I read some reviews speaking of PAIN..and I am a woosh. But I read the directions and more reviews before I tried it and took the suggestion that it was less painful on high speed than on low (2 speed choices) and to not use the attachment that comes with it (for underarms and bikini lines)...so I followed their advice, used it straight out of the box so to speak and was very pleased with the results.
First of all let me tell you that Braun suggests that you exfoliate first and that if you have hair growth that is very long..that you shave it or pluck it so that as it grows back you can remove it with the Braun. The longer the hair is the possibility of pain increases..so shorter is better and exfoliating is important for leg hair, underarm hair.
You should also use one hand to pull the skin taunt and use the Braun in the other hand. You should go against the direction the hair grows in..and sometimes that is hard to determine, so when I encounter that, I simply run the Braun in the opposite direction until it catches the hair follicle.
The Braun works by actually plucking the hairs out individually..it has a lot of vibration which is to help to minimize the plucking sensation, but I don't always like that feeling on my neck or chin area, however...it works.
For me, and since I am only concerned with the chin and neck area, it is completely painless, however I know that depending on the length and location of the hair your using the Braun on..it can be a little painful (have you ever waxed???...then you will know the sensation) However for myself, it is completely painless though I have to deal with the sensation from the vibrating heads.
When using the Braun each time it finds a hair follicle..it simply feels like a little bump...no pain at all..but I feel a BUMP..and the hair is gone. I LOVE the bumps for it means hair free!
It operates with a cord and that is good and bad..for you are guaranteed your power and don't have to worry about batteries..but you have the inconvenience of only using it where there are electrical plugs.
When I was using tweezers it seemed I was using them about every other night or so. Now that I am using the Braun Pink epilator, I would say I need to go back over the area maybe every 10 days to 2 weeks..and that is very satisfactory to me. For what I am using it for..it takes me maybe 2 minutes to go over the area and make sure I got all of them..maybe even a bit less than that. For larger areas like legs it would take a considerable longer time.
A humerous footnote here...after I posted this review, I only then realized I had used a photo of my dog for my profile pic..so trust me to say..it is not my dog with the chin hair I was speaking of!
