lavoisier's Full Review: Braun Syncro 7680 Electric Shaver
When it was time for me to replace my electric razor, I really needed something that could really deliver a closer shave than I had with my old razor. What happened was that the old razor's battery wasn't replaceable and that the performance began to really die out. So, I needed something that could faithfully replace my old razor, something better and closer as my shaving needs have never been much greater. Plus, the idea of even cleaning the blades and the mesh screen takes some time to even dry and to use disinfectant to eliminate the bacteria that could otherwise cause razor burn or unnecessary scratches near the shaving area.
After some time in looking for the ideal shaver, I discovered the Braun Syncro 7680 as my ideal replacement for my old electric shaver. It had everything that I really would like to see in an electric razor. It shaved very closely in every surface, especially for the chin area, where the stubble tends to be very coarse and that my old Braun electric razor tends to miss, unless I leave the hairs in the chin area long enough. But with this new razor, it's no problem. Long or short, it will do it all, cleanly and smoothly with the 4 way oscillating head.
What I discovered with the razor is that it has its own cleaning station that also acts as a battery recharge station, so that I don't have to worry too much about the cords or even think about losing my power cord as well. But the only thing with those special disinfectants and cleaners is that they tend to be pricey and it's a necessity to maintain the quality of the razor.
Overall, I find that the battery does hold quite a bit of charge, lasting about an hour per full charge, which is pretty much what I was trying to achieve from any electric razor. With the cleaning station, I don't really have to worry too much about the cords. The LCD display on the razor unit itself really tells you how much battery is left over until it runs out of power, so that doesn't leave me concerned about the battery here.
The unit itself was easy to hold and I don't really see how I can easily slip with the grooves that are built into the razor unit. But I was kind of thinking that it would be noisy, but I didn't hear anything at all while I'm shaving, so that I can at least tune into my morning music and news without turning the razor off. It's great.
Although it comes at a cost of about $160, but it's really worth the extra money for this razor here, as it could really serve me faithfully for a long time, since it's a Braun. With my old razor, since I've used it for almost 4 years and it still runs great without changing the blade, but just had to change the screen once. So, I would really recommend this to anyone that is willing to pay more for a closer shave, yet don't really want to leave their beards grow.
